Jerime Eugene Chavez left us too soon on January 17, 2024, at the age of 41. 

Born on July 1, 1982, in Odessa, Texas, Jerime was a beacon of dedication and joy to all who knew him.

 The beloved son of Kim West and stepfather Tracy West and Ricky Chavez and stepmother Lucy Chavez, Jerime grew up in a loving family. He was a cherished brother to Rocky Chavez and adoring uncle to his niece Roxandra Chavez. Jerime's family was the cornerstone of his life, and he shared with them an unbreakable bond that was evident in his unwavering support and love. Jerime's academic journey began at Odessa Permian High School, where he graduated in 2001. His thirst for knowledge and commitment to personal growth led him to further his education at UT Permian Basin, where he received a Bachelor's degree in Accounting in 2010. His educational accomplishments laid the groundwork for many future accomplishments. Professionally, Jerime was a hardworking overachiever, recognized for his ability to excel in any role he took on. He played a significant part in the family business, Permian Machinery Movers, where his dedication and leadership skills shone brightly. Jerime's career also included a tenure at PEP Boys, where he earned numerous management awards, a testament to his exceptional work ethic and managerial acumen. Beyond his professional life, Jerime was a self-taught day trader in the Stock Market, showcasing his sharp intellect and passion for finance. Jerime's interests were diverse and reflective of his multifaceted personality. Self-taught in all areas of his interests, Jerime’s brilliant mind had the desire to keep learning and creating. Jerime was an avid gamer, finding joy and relaxation in playing Xbox with his friends. He loved to create and produce his own original instrumentals and beats. Sharing this hobby with two of his closest friends brought great joy to Jerime. His fascination with technology extended to building computers, a hobby that allowed him to merge his creativity with his technical skills. Motorcycles were another passion of Jerime's, as he cherished the sense of freedom and adventure they brought into his life. In his recent years, Jerime found spiritual fulfillment through his faith. Having turned his life over to Christ and baptized, he dedicated himself to studying scripture and sharing his passion with others. His journey of faith was marked by an eagerness to understand and a desire to share with friends and family. Jerime's legacy is one of love, perseverance, and generosity. His infectious laughter, genuine kindness, witty humor and animated personality will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him. Jerime's life was a testament to the power of hard work, the importance of family, and the joy of pursuing one's passions. As we say goodbye to Jerime, we celebrate the remarkable life he led and the countless lives he touched. We take comfort in knowing that his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us in the years to come.
