Jayda Christeel Floyd, 22, of Odessa, Texas passed away July 4, 2025, in Kerr County.
Visitation will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Thursday, July 24, 2025, 5:00 PM -8:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, at Crossroads, 6901 TX-191 Frontage, Odessa, Texas Friday, July 25, 2025, with Pastor Larry Elder of Hope Community Church officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are made by Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
Jayda was born in Odessa, Texas to David Joe and Christie Beth Floyd on July 16, 2002. She is a 2020 graduate of Permian High School where she was a member of the Mighty Mojo Band. Jayda graduated from University of Texas of the Permian Basin Spring 2024 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She had returned to UTPB pursuing her Masters in the Clinical Psychology Program. Jayda worked as a juvenile probation officer for Ector County, completing her first year in June.
Jayda Christeel is preceded in death by her Granny Jane Rasco; great Aunt, Beth Lewis; Papaw Gary Floyd and her future husband, Bailey Martin.
Jayda is survived by her parents David and Christie Floyd; her Bubby, Dane Floyd; Grandma, Shirley Floyd; Pop, David Rasco; Aunt and Uncle, Corina and CJ Williams; Cousins, CJ, Cayla and Carly Williams; her beloved pug - Maggie Mae (Maggot); as well as many extended family and wonderful friends.
A very special thank you to Ector County Sheriff Mike Griffis, Chief Medical Examiner Carl Rogers, Juvenile Probation Director Kevin Mann, Judge Brooke Hendricks, ECISD Police Chief Jeff Daniels, Ector County Judge Dustin Fawcett, the Texas Rangers and all who brought Jayda home, we are eternally grateful.
