Ida Hutton

Ida Hutton went to be with the Lord on March 5, 2008.

Ida Hutton was born 84 years ago in Brownfield, Texas to H.D. and Peachie Ida Leach. She was the youngest of six children and they lived on a farm in Gomez where they raised cows, pigs and crops. She graduated from Brownfield High School and was working as a soda jerk when she met and married the love of her life. E.W. Hutton and Ida were married at First Baptist Church in Brownfield on April 21, 1946 by the Rev. A.A. Brian.

They moved to Odessa in 1951. There were two children born of this marriage, Gaile Elizabeth and Glynn Edward. Ida worked for Mrs. McAdams Day Care, First Baptist Church Day Care and then retired as a PBX Operator from Medical Center Hospital after 26 years of service. Ida was a member of Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary and Order of the Eastern Star Odessa Chapter 447.

She was predeceased by her husband, her daughter, her parents, and brothers and sisters, J. T., Ruben, Lemma and Helen. Survivors include her son Glynn and wife Beverly, granddaughter Aaron Morrow, her husband Dax and two great grandchildren of Arizona, sister Oleta Wisdom of Allen, Texas.

Special thanks to her friend and caregiver Debbie Wise and all the staff of Home Hospice for the care given to Ida during her illness.

Graveside services will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens on March 7, 2008 at 2:00 PM oclock, with Brother Byron McWilliams of First Baptist Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Home Hospice, First Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.

Funeral services are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
