Glenda Hinkle

Glenda Geneva Hinkle was called home on January 28, 2008. She was born July 2, 1938 in Cottonwood, TX. She was owner and director of Little Angles play school were she had a hand in raising and teaching a lot of special adults from this area such as Darren, Steven, and David Allman, Steven and Brad Timmons. Just to name a few. She lit up when she heard of their accomplishments After 35 years with all the kids she retired and her brother James Joy is still successfully carrying on her lifes love at Little Angels. She loved traveling all over the world, reading, and sitting in the afternoon sun with Billy the light of her life. She was a member and supporter of many organizations such as the Daycare Association, Permian Booster Club, the Odessa Soccer Association and many more.

Glenda was preceded in death by her Father Rufus Clayton Joy and mother Myrtle Glendora Joy, Brothers Steve Joy, Claxton Joy and granddaughter Jamie LaRae South.

She is survived by her loving husband Billy Hinkle of 53 years; daughters Vickie Lynn Ramsey and husband James, Teresa Ann Isom and husband Larry, Kathy Sue Hinkle, four grandchildren, Brandy Joy Yell and husband Mark of Odessa, Billy James South of Odessa, Jerry Don South of Odessa and Bryson Dale Isom of Bridgeport TX, four great-grand kids, Kelby, Blake, Charleigh Alyssa and Tyler, sisters Pat Jones and husband Milton of Odessa, Lois Welch and husband Bobby of Lake Charles; brothers Clayton Joy and wife Renee of Odessa, James Joy of Odessa, Darryl and wife Brenda of Plano, TX, many nieces and nephews that she was extremely proud of.

Visitation will be Wednesday January 30, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be Thursday January 31, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.

Pallbearers are: Freddie Jones, Roland Bailey, Jerry Young, Tim Reezs, Randy Gourd, and Ron Joy.

Honorary Pallbearers are: Cory Joy, Judd Joy, Jake Joy, Trevor Joy, and Casey Joy.

The family also wishes to send our deepest thanks to Shane and Renee and everyone at Regency. Also we would like to thank Rhonda and all of the Hospice Staff.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
