Glenda Rae (Smith) Griffin, 93, of Garden City, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2026. Glenda was born May 31, 1932 in Hatchel, Texas to J. Frank and Jewell Smith. Though our hearts ache in her absence, we take comfort in knowing her love lives on in the family she built, the Christian values she passed down, and the countless lives she touched. Her legacy of love, service, and faith will continue for generations. Glenda met Ken at Odessa High School and he then became the “love of her life”. They married in 1951 and were married for 60 years before he passed in 2011. Glenda and Ken loved to travel in their RV and visited every state except two or three. As a part of their travels, they were members of Sojourner’s rendering aid to people in need. She loved to read mysteries and true-life books. When not reading, she enjoyed scrapbooking every picture in her house. Her favorite times were spent with family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her many friends. Glenda was a member of the 6th & Jackson Church of Christ in Odessa, Texas sixty-eight years. During this time, Glenda and Ken were involved with the breakfast ministry twenty-five years serving others. She also taught the 2nd grade Sunday school classes for many years.
