Glenda Nell Baggett, 87, of Odessa, passed away on May 11, 2024, in her Odessa home, surrounded by family, after a short illness. Glenda was born on February 5, 1937, in Electra, Texas to Lois & Cecil Henderson.
Glenda graduated from Electra High School. She and her first husband, M.L. Baggett, moved to Brownfield, where they raised their three sons. Glenda moved to Odessa to attend Odessa College, obtaining her real estate and broker licenses. Glenda worked with her sister, Francis Goodwin, at Goodwin Realtors and eventually became co-owner of Bell Realtors, alongside her niece, Angie Bell. Glenda had just recently handed over the reins of that business to her longtime mentee, Mary Salgado, of whom she was so proud. Glenda won more than 100 awards over her 50+ year career span in the industry she loved. She considered her real estate clients to be true friends.
In July 1992, Glenda married her co-worker and love of her life, James Cranfill, who adored her and treated her like a queen. He fit perfectly into the family. On any given weekend, Glenda could think of nothing better than to host a family dinner at her home, followed by a talent show featuring all the kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews. Glenda’s home was always the “party place”, where everyone came to enjoy each holiday, birthday, wedding or baby shower. She loved opening up her home and had any piece of crystal or serving dish anyone might need. She enjoyed the classic style and had beautiful taste in décor!
Glenda is preceded in death by her husband, James Cranfill; son, Scott Baggett; parents, Lois & Cecil Henderson; sister Francis Goodwin; brothers, Rev. Cecil “Babe” Henderson and Jerry Don Henderson; former husband, M.L. Baggett; nephew, Sammy Goodwin; and beloved niece, Angie Bell. Glenda is now reunited with these special people in Heaven.
Glenda is survived by her son, Larry Baggett of Odessa; son and daughter-in-law, Rick & Tammy Baggett, of Fort Worth; granddaughters, Nicki & Jeremy Frost and their sons, J.J. & Ryder; Tara & Michael Masiello and their daughters, McKenzie, Madison and Morgan; Taylor & Kaprice Knolle and their children, Isaiah, Jada and Faith; Melissa Baggett and Michelle Baggett; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tommy & Barbara Henderson of Odessa and Michael & Becky Henderson of Hahnville, Louisiana; sister-in-law and her husband, Saundra & Bob Temple, of Arlington; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
