Gertrude Jeanette (Jean) Smith, 96 years of age, departed this earth to her heavenly home on Sunday, September 29, 2024, in Odessa, TX.

A private service will be held for family members.

Jean was born in San Angelo, TX to Artie G. and Hattie G. Kingston on October 26, 1927. She attended school in Corpus Christi, TX. She married James F. Smith on November 10, 1945, in Corpus Christi. She worked as a bookkeeper for Knighten Industries in Odessa for 21 years.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers (John L. Kingston and Artie G. Kingston), sister (Joyce Isenberg), son and daughter-in-law (Ronald A. and Theresa M. Smith), and son-in-law (Paul E. “Bunt” Burnett, Jr.).

She is survived by her five daughters, Sherilyn (Wayne) English, Cindi (John) Adicks, Marcie (Floyd) Stell, Mona Burnett, and Cecelia (Mark) Lewis; sister, Donna (A.C.) Grahmann; 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
