With heavy hearts, we celebrate the life of George Waddell. He was called to his eternal resting place on January 29, 2026, at the age of 72, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion that will always be remembered and a void his family cannot fill.
George was born May 11, 1953, in Spofford, Texas, to Samuel and Consuelo Waddell.
He was married for 53 years to the love of his life, Oralia Waddell. Together, they were a fierce power couple, building a life rooted in devotion, loyalty, and family. They shared a deep bond and a love for music, finding joy together on the dance floor and in the many moments that made up their life side by side.
George loved working on his cars and had a lifelong appreciation for old trucks. A natural problem-solver with a strong work ethic, he spent many years as a maintenance plant foreman, a role that suited his hands-on skills and leadership.
In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking and could often be found in his shop making benches-projects built with care and meant to last. He was also an expert at the grill, famous for making the best brisket and his secret BBQ sauce that became legendary among family and friends.
George loved baseball and was the biggest New York Yankees fan, proudly cheering them on year after year.
Nothing brought him more joy than his family. He was a beloved dad, pampo (as his grandchildren called him), brother, uncle, and friend. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to 12 grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to watch them play sports, always showing up to support them from the sidelines.
He touched many lives, loving deeply and giving freely. He would do anything for anyone, and his kindness, generosity, and steady presence will never be forgotten.
George is survived by his children: George Waddell Jr. (wife Jessica Waddell children Kristopher, Katelynn, Damian, Michael, Andrew, and Josiah) Erica Vasquez (husband Paul Vasquezchildren Baylinn, Pj, Marleigh) and Justin Waddell (wife Cassandra Waddell children Camila, Cayden, Cienna). siblings Louis( Laura) Waddell, Barbara Waddell, Gregory (Amy) Waddell and Leona Waddell ; along with his beloved grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
He showed up, loved hard, and gave everything he had to the people around him and that is how he will always be remembered.
On behalf of the Waddell family: We would like to extend our gratitude to all those who have supported us in every way. We are eternally grateful for your love during this difficult time and appreciate your prayers in the days to come.
