Geneva Pearce

Geneva Louise Pearce, age 86 passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023, in Odessa, Texas.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Odessa.  A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday April 19, 2023, also at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell will be officiating. A burial will follow at the Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Geneva was born in Jones County, Texas to Cleo and Jewell Connell on October 11, 1936.  She attended schools and grew up in and around Anson, Texas.   Anson is where she met her future husband, Charlie Pearce.  Soon after their son Gary was born, they moved to Odessa, Texas where their daughter Sherry was born in Odessa.  Geneva was an outgoing woman of tremendous energy.  Her energy was focused on being a good wife and mother, raising her two children and her work as a bookkeeper for several oilfield service companies in the Odessa area.  Her outgoing personality, compassion for others and passion for fun led to many great friendships that continued until her passing.  Geneva's greatest pleasures were spending time with her friends either playing golf, traveling or enjoying a good meal where she could not only share stories of her children and grandchildren but also hear similar stories from her friends about their children and grandchildren.  She was truly a good friend and felt fortunate to have so many good friends in return.

Geneva is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie; her daughter, Sherry; and sister, Bernice Dutton; and parents, Cleo and Jewell Connell.

Geneva is survived by her son, Gary Pearce who resides in Sugar Land, Texas; her brother, Richard Connell of Grand Junction, Colorado; and grandchildren, Charlie Pearce of Austin, Texas, Jason Thomas of Billings, Montana, Travis Pearce who currently lives in Virginia; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousin, and her very special companion of recent years, Earnest Briles.

The family wishes to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff of Medical Center Hospital and Interim Health Care Hospice, for the caring and compassion shown to Geneva in her last days, all of you involved made our Geneva as comfortable as humanly possible and treated her with the utmost respect.
