Guadalupe Deras Gonzalez

Odessa

 

Guadalupe (Lupe) Deras González 86, passed through the Gates of Heaven on Tuesday December 26, 2023, in Midland, Texas. 

 

Lupe was born on July 23, 1937, in Durango, Durango, Mexico. Her parents were Maria de la Luz & José Luis Rocha

 

Lupe emigrated to the USA in 1954 and was sworn in as a U.S citizen on March 5, 1992.  She maintained her home and husband’s ranching career like a flawless machine of cooking for many and ensured that everyone knew the door was always open to their home and that an extra place at the table would always be available. Throughout the years she enjoyed working as a part-time employee at Endee and San Jon Municipal Schools. 

 

She was active in her communities of San Jon & Tucumcari, New Mexico, and was a member of First Spanish Baptist Church for 51 years.  She served by coordinating potlucks, Women’s Missionary Union and many other programs throughout the years, again ensuring that everyone felt the love of the Lord and welcomed by all. 

 

Lupe’s joy of gardening, cooking, decorating, gifting what she had or made, and entertaining has spread throughout the generations of her family. Her knowledge and wisdom greatly exceeded the 8th grade education she formally had. 

 

She was a godly wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.  A woman of true integrity that exhibited a strong work ethic. Lupe was loved and respected by those that crossed her path.

 

In September of 2016, Tomas and Lupe retired to Odessa, TX, to be closer to their family of four children,12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

 

Lupe is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 Years Tomas Diaz Gonzalez. Along with Her parents, sister Yolanda Solano, brother Antonio Rocha. She leaves behind her sister, three daughters, a son, twelve grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Grandsons: Chris Clawson, Tomas Bradley Clawson, wife Caty, Great-Grandsons Easton Sawyer, Jack Tomas, Great-Grand-daughter Zella. Granddaughter: Sydney Clawson Fisher, husband Trent, Great-Grandson Huck Michael and soon to be great-grandchild Fisher

•Antonio González of Odessa, TX.

Grandsons: Andres Gonzalez wife Akui, great grandson Sebastian Andres, Adrian Gonzalez, Abraham Gonzalez, Tomas Emiliano Gonzalez, Granddaughter: Fernanda Reynoso

•Leticia Gonzalez Reinke, her husband Brian of Odessa, TX, Granddaughters: Bianca Rendon, Brooke Sanford, husband Trevor, Blayr Reinke, Grandson: Lincoln Tomas Reinke

 

A Celebration of Life Reception will be held at 2:00 PM, on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at the home of Leticia & Brian Reinke 13 San Saba Drive, Odessa Texas.  Memorial Donations can be sent in Honor of Lupe Gonzalez to Pink the Basin PO Box 7406, Odessa, TX 79760
