Gary Ward age 75 of Odessa, passed away on September 28, 2025 in Odessa.

Graveside Services will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, Oct 13, 2025 at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Gary Ward was born in Johnsville Kentucky to Beatrice and Daniel Ward on November 10, 1949. Gary attended High School at Stivers High School in Dayton, Ohio. Gary met and married the love of his life on October 19, 1968. They were married for 55 years. They had two children, Tricia Ward Mauro of Odessa and Steve Ward of Odessa. Gary began his professional journey, with a strong foundation in manufacturing, joining General Motors in Dayton, Ohio, where he dedicated 12 rewarding years to the company’s automotive operations. Seeking new opportunities and horizons, he transitioned to Huntsman Corporation in Odessa, Texas, embarking on a career that lasted over two decades.

Gary’s enthusiasm for sports was a cornerstone of his life. A devoted family man, he poured his heart into serving as an assistant coach for Tricia’s Softball teams. He took equal pride as a head coach for his son Steve’s baseball team. An ardent fan of college teams. Gary had an unwavering commitment to Texas Tech, the University of Texas, and the University of Oklahoma, teams that held special meanings as threads in the family tapestry. Gary’s loyalty to these Red Raiders, Longhorns, and Sooners embodied his greatest joy: Linda, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Gary’s heart swelled with boundless love and fierce pride for every one of his grandchildren and great grandchildren, each a living testament to the legacy he cherished. In his wife and family he saw the best of his world.

Gary is preceded in death by his wife Linda Ward, his mother Beatrice Ward, his father Daniel Ward, his brothers Mike and Phillip Ward, and his precious niece Samantha Ward.

Gary is survived by his daughter Tricia Ward Mauro, and her husband Pete Mauro, Steve Ward and his wife Robin Ward, his grandchildren Rylee Jones Gatewood, Derron Gatewood, Reed Jones, Ravyn Jones, Morgan Ward, Raygan Jones, Paige Ward, and Landry Ward, his Great grandchildren, Kaegan Jones, Remy Jones, Sophia Gatewood and Olivia Gatewood, his sister in law Judy Ward and his beloved niece and nephew Amy Ward and James Ward.
