Gary Oden Harris

Gary Oden Harris, 86, of Odessa, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 21, 2025. 

Gary was born on December 1, 1938, in Brownwood, TX to Cecil and Lois B. (Oden) Harris. 

Gary is survived by his wife of almost 35 years, Mary Carver Harris; his daughter, Kim Van Sicklen (Jeff) of Dallas, TX; his son, Brian Harris (Michele) of Round Rock, TX; his grandchildren, Casey Van Cleave (Cricket) of Ennis, TX, Candice McCall (Chris) of Lindale, TX, Macy Harris and Tanner Harris (Madi) of Austin, TX; and 6 great grandchildren, Macy Pallini, Cadence Van Cleave, Harris Rudd, Collins McCall, Jack McCall and Johnnie Louise McCall. 

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Lois B. Harris; his sister, Ruby Goodwin; and his daughter, Cindy Bennett.

For those who knew Gary, you know that he was a staunch Mojo supporter and the University of Texas. The family would like to express sincere appreciation to Gary’s caregivers, Maricela Villalobos and Angelee Blackmon and to Angels Hospice and Interim Hospice for his comfort. 

Graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, TX at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 1, 2025. Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Odessa Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
