Gail Smith

Gail Smith, affectionately known as “Gay” to the family members and friends she loved so fiercely, passed away in Hamilton, Texas on Wednesday, April 24th, 2024.

Gail was born in Gilmer, Texas on June 16th, 1945, to Evelyn and George Cross. On June 28th, 1963, she married Leslie Smith who preceded her in death in 2018 after 55 years of marriage. She is also preceded in death by her parents, her son Randy; brother Sonny and sister Kathy; her beloved pups Miracle and Sunshine.

The most important thing in Gail's life was always her children and grandchildren. Being a mother and grandmother was her greatest dream. She was a nurturer and a caretaker. Everyone always felt wanted and cherished when they stepped into her home.

She is survived by her son, Ricky Smith and wife Colleen; grandsons, Collin Smith and wife Rachael, Luke Smith and wife Alexis; great-grandson, Copeland Smith; sister, Barbara and husband Jimmy Davis; sister, Teresa and husband Roy Kyees; along with numerous nieces and nephews; and her new pup, Lilah.
