Born in a tent in Cisco, Texas (1938) to Roscoe and Mary Lou Seay, Elizabeth Ann Seay was the oldest of three children. She had fiery red hair and a zest for life, fueled by her love for Jesus and those around her.
"Miss Liz," as many knew her, married David Clay in 1965. Together, they raised four children – Mitch, Eddie, Rusty, and Lydia Loriann. They were also blessed with five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a couple great-great-grandchildren. She worked in the banking industry where she forged lasting friendships at First Savings and Loan in Odessa and Sid Richardson Credit Union – serving in multiple executive roles, including president. After "retiring,” Liz’s expertise was sought after by many credit union boards. In 2018, she was inducted into the Cornerstone League Credit Union Hall of Fame – a testament to her role in organizing and running credit unions from the local to national level.Liz had a passion for encouraging others in her personal and professional life. Through the years, she sent thousands of greeting cards to her friends and family, always with a handwritten note inside. At Christmas time, alone, she usually sent over 200 cards. She loved serving in her church in many capacities including administrative work and Vacation Bible School. She loved to encourage young pastors and their wives through the challenges of ministry.Through it all, Liz’s greatest purpose and desire was sharing the love of Jesus with her family and those around her. She was a bright light and joy to so many and will be greatly missed.
