Dwight "Ike" Pelopero

May 28, 1951 — December 7, 2022

Odessa

Dwight “Ike” L. Pelopero was born on May 28, 1951. He was the son of the late Ramon Pelopero and late Florita Laluma and was the 5th of 10 children. He departed this earthly life on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at the age of 71.

He is survived by his wife Nena, daughter Joy, and grandson Rowin Quinn; as well as his older brothers, Mamerto of the Philippines (wife Medy and their family), Norberto of the Philippines (wife Neda and their family), Orlando of Odessa, TX (wife Lydia and their family), Primo of Odessa, TX, sister in law Rosemarie of Odessa, TX and kids (late brother Ruben Sr.), sister in law Marilou of the Philippines and kids (late brother Sergio), and his younger siblings Edna of Odessa, TX, Flora of the Philippines (and their family); and some extended family.

After earning his Associates degree in Commerce from Central Philippines University, he met the love of his life, his earthly angel, Nena Andres, and married her shortly after in January of 1973. Later having their only child and daughter, Joy, they moved to Odessa, TX to start a new life in the United States.

Everyone who knew Ike felt his big heart and giving nature. He simply wanted to brighten lives in his days, and that he surely did. He will be missed by his family and friends, whom he spent countless hours cooking for, playing mahjong with, and providing constant entertainment through his lively energy. Ike would be the first person you find at the party to pick up a microphone and sing his heart out with his favorite karaoke songs, while friends and family cheer him on in the background. He was never too far from his dogs that he loved dearly. He was a stranger to no one and found great purpose in helping those around him in any way he can. Ike was authentically and wholeheartedly there for those in his life.

He would love to be remembered with funny, strange, or silly stories that celebrate what was good and blessed in his life.
