Donald Wayne "Sonny" Beaver, born on November 18, 1937, in Gainesville, Texas, peacefully departed this world on August 21, 2026. Sonny's journey was one of love, resilience, and dedication, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to know him.

Sonny was the cherished son of Gene and Hazel Beaver and is now reunited with them, as well as his dear sister Christine Plumlee and the love of his life April Boyd, in eternal rest. His legacy of love and laughter endures through his surviving family, including his beloved brother Gene "Junior" Beaver and Junior's wife, Pam. He also leaves behind his children, Don Cannon Beaver and wife Annie, and Christin Paige Beaver-Barnett and husband Bill.

A devoted grandfather, Sonny took immense pride in his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Camille Paige Brown and her husband Karl, Zachary Cannon Beaver, great grandson Wesley Ray Beaver, and great granddaughter Hazel Sloan Brown. They will all carry his memory forward, cherishing the moments they shared with him.

Sonny also had an extended family with his son Don Cannon Beaver and his wife Annie. Stepdaughter Sarah Allen and husband Michael, step-grandson Jordan Muschalek and wife Anna Kate, the late Hayden Muschalek, and step-great-granddaughter Maddie Jade Allen.

Throughout his career as a pipeline welder, Sonny was recognized for his exceptional skill and commitment. His influence extended beyond his own work, as he mentored many, including his brother Junior, in the craft that he was so passionate about. Sonny was a non-active member of the Pipeliners Local 798, a testament to his lifelong dedication to his profession.

Known for his quick wit and warm smile, Sonny had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued. His kindness, generosity, and infectious humor touched countless lives. He was a man who loved cars and trucks, particularly his cherished Ford Thunderbirds, and he spent many joyful hours tending to them. His love for animals, especially his Boston Terriers, was another testament to his gentle spirit.

Beyond his professional and personal pursuits, Sonny was a devoted Christian, living his faith each day. He had a deep love for Texas and his country, and he was never shy about sharing his views. Above all, Sonny was proud of his family and the life he built with them.

A service to celebrate Sonny's life will be held on September 5, 2026, at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, located at 6801 East Business 20, Odessa, Texas. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of a truly remarkable man.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the local SPCA or the American Heart Association in honor of Sonny's memory.

Donald Wayne "Sonny" Beaver lived his life on his own terms, a beacon of love, laughter, and strength. He will be profoundly missed, yet his spirit will continue to guide and inspire those he leaves behind.
