Deborah Benge Frost (Debbie), passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2026 in Odessa, Texas.
Debbie was born on January 23rd , 1956 in Hobbs, New Mexico to Donna and George Benge. Raised in Lovington, New Mexico alongside her brother and sister, Debbie’s “Farm Girl” adventurous spirit and love of God’s beautiful creation began to grow. Debbie attended school in Lovington, New Mexico, graduating in 1974. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science Degree and Master’s Degree from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM.
Debbie married the love of her life, Bert Frost, in 1994 and for their entire 32 years, they not only cherished one another, but found joy in serving and sharing the love of Christ to others. Debbie treasured the gift of being Momma-D to Ashlie and Meaghin and Grandma-D to Dillan and Samantha. She loved sharing and showing Christ to many who considered her to be like a mom.
Debbie worked as a Horticulture Agent for the New Mexico State Extension Service before joining Texas AgriLife with Texas A&M for Midland and Ector County. Exploring ways to share her passion, Debbie was instrumental in establishing the Permian Basin Master Gardener's organization. She was the recipient of numerous awards for her extension programs and educational outreach. After retirement, Debbie’s talents as a Land-Scape Designer were sought by many and her handiwork could be found in beautiful landscapes and gardens all around the community. They truly were an expression of her love.
Debbie enjoyed many hobbies and interests outside of her passion of landscape design including hiking, biking, swimming, horseback riding, kayaking, jet skiing, scuba diving, snorkeling, bird-watching and the list goes on and on. The “Farm Girl” found her love of art in ceramics. She threw beautiful cups and bowls. Her porcelain art work was exhibited at the Palace of Governors in Santa Fe, NM.
Debbie was very active in BSF where she taught and ministered to others. She also loved serving her community by delivering meals with Meals on Wheels.
