Obituary

Deborah Lynn “Debbie” Dunn, 74, of Odessa, stepped into glory on August 26th.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 1, 2026 from 6 pm - 8 pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.

A memorial service for Debbie will be held at 11 am Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Byron McWilliams officiating. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.

Debbie was born in Midland, Texas to Roy Dean Jobe and Mary Frances Wallis on April 23, 1952. She married the love of her life, Eddie Dunn, on June 20, 1970 and together they built a life centered on family, love, and faith.

Debbie was a devoted believer in Jesus Christ and a member of First Baptist Church. Her faith was an important part of her life and brings comfort to those who loved her, knowing that she is now at home with her Lord and Savior.

Debbie, affectionately called G-Mama, was a woman of many talents. Debbie had a beautiful gift for making ordinary things feel extraordinary. She could arrange flowers with an artist’s eye and make a simple tea party feel as though it were being held at The Plaza. Her creativity brought beauty, warmth, and a touch of elegance to everyday life. She was also a gifted seamstress, and there was hardly a beloved stuffed animal or treasured piece of clothing she could not lovingly mend. Whether she was creating something beautiful or restoring something precious, Debbie poured care into every detail and made those around her feel deeply loved.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Dean and Mary Frances, her in-laws, Berlie and Opal Dunn, and her brother-in-law, Jerry Dunn.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Eddie Dunn; her children, Rusty Dunn and his wife, Heather, Rhesa Dunn and her husband, Wade; her grandchildren, Bree, Avery, Colton, and Caitlynn; her sister, Levona McLeod and her husband, Kyle; and an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members and loved ones who will deeply miss her.

Although Debbie’s absence will be deeply felt, her family finds peace in the promise of Scripture, “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” (Philippians 1:21, ESV). Her life, love, and faith will continue to be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family of Debbie wishes to extend their sincere thanks for Lily Mendez, who graciously took care of her the last ten months, Hospice of Odessa, her bible study class at First Odessa, and many others.
