Davin Smith

November 6, 1991 — February 13, 2023

Odessa

Davin Stewart Smith, 31 of Odessa, Texas passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023, in Pflugerville, Texas.  Davin was born in Odessa Texas on November 6, 1991, to Eric & Michelle Smith.

Davin attended Bonham Jr. High and was active in football, basketball, and track.  He graduated from Permian High School in 2010.  While at Permian, he completed the O.C. Fire Academy, but his interest turned to the oilfield, and he followed his older brother and grandad into the chemical business.   He was a delivery driver, a service tech, and a Salesman for Impact Chemical, now Imperative Chemical Partners.  He was currently employed for Brothers Food Service in Austin.

As a child, he loved to ride his bike, dirt bike, go to the lake, ski, or just hang out around the house with his many friends.  He started playing soccer at four with the Odessa Cowboys, where we met many new friends and are consider as a part of our extended family.  We have so many fond memories of our awesome little group.

Davin loved all kinds of music from Dwight Yoakum, Blink 182 to Wiz Khalifa, and his all-time favorite, A Day To Remember.   If they were near, he was there! #Havefaithinme

We have been reminded by all the love and support how awesome Davin is.  Always polite, well- mannered and greeted everyone with love, respect and of course, his Hollywood smile.

The love he had for his siblings, Branden and Kasey is undeniable, a bond that will never be broken, and the same for him.   He loved being Uncle Widdle.  You can bet if Tooter and Pretty were around, that’s where you would find him.

August 31st is International Overdose Awareness Day, we ask that you think of Davin and other friends, loved ones, and the other countless people that have lost their battle to addiction.

We would like to express our gratitude for the overwhelming love and support during this difficult time.  Davin, also known as “WIDDLE”, “Dav”, “Davers” and his mothers’s “Little Sunshine” was a true friend to many and will be deeply missed.

Davin is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, K. David & Linda Wallender; paternal grandparent, David Stewart McColpin; and aunt, Marcelle Patterson

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Eric & Michelle Smith; brother, Branden Smith; sister, Kasey Vickers; brother-in-law, Britt Vickers; his nephew, Valen Vickers; niece, Vivienne Vickers; and grandmother, Carole McColpin; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Pallbearers are Eric Smith, Branden Smith, Britt Vickers, Valen Vickers, Justin Wallender, Kaleb Walker, Sean Moseler, and Austin Escabedo.

Famous words from Widdle, “Chow-Chow”
