David H. Gallivan Sr., age 85, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023 in Odessa, TX.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 14th from 6-8 pm at Sunset Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, February 15th at 10 am at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with Father Joseph officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
David was born in Boston, Massachusetts on November 5, 1937 to Thelma and Joseph Gallivan.
In 1955, he enlisted in the AirForce. While serving, he met and married Beverly Jean Gordon on October 4, 1957 in El Paso, TX. In 1959, he dedicated himself to the U.S. Army and made it his career for 22 years. After retiring from the Army, he devoted himself to the R.O.T.C. program, in Odessa, for 20 years.
David is survived by his daughters, Diana Boykin and her husband Donnie Boykin, Donna Schoel and her husband Rick Schoel; sons, David Gallivan Jr. and his wife Sandy Gallivan, Dusty Gallivan and his wife Monica Gallivan; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the Home Hospice and their amazing staff.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
