Dana Erwin

Dana Erwin (Granny), 78 years old, of Odessa Texas, passed from this life on Friday, December 16, 2022, in Odessa, Tx. She was born on September 25, 1944, in Mineral Wells, Tx, to Les and Katie Hembree.

Dana dedicated her love and life to her family. Family was everything to her. She enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her children and grandchildren. She spent 57 years dedicating her love to her soulmate, Eddie Erwin. Together, they proudly built their business Erwin’s Used Cars while raising their two children, Scott and De’Ann. Two of her favorite places to spend with family were their cabin in Timberon, NM, and in later years the lake house in Brownwood, Tx. Just like her mother, she was a feisty fighter. She was a breast cancer survivor and fought a lengthy illness with her loving husband who fought with her and stood by her side until the end. She left this world surrounded by the love of her husband, children and grandchildren.

Dana is preceded in death by her mother and father, Les and Katie Hembree and grandson, Zackrey Landry.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her loving husband, Eddie Erwin; son, Scott Erwin and wife Stacey; daughter, De’Ann Weekly; granddaughter, Haley Shook and husband Brendon; granddaughter, Ali Landry-Erwin and boyfriend Danny Cruz; granddaughter, Cloe Erwin; grandson, Caden Weekly; grandson, Chris Issac; great-grandsons, Peyton and Landon Issac; brother, Jay Hembree and wife Norma.

A special thank you to Lili Valenzuela, she was not only mom’s nurse but her friend as well.  There are no words to express our gratitude for the loving care she gave Dana.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home Chapel room.
