In Loving Memory of Curtis Wayne Couch February 24, 1955 – September 16, 2025

Curtis Wayne Couch, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025, surrounded by the love that defined his life. Born on February 24, 1955, in San Antonio, Texas, Curtis lived a life marked by unwavering devotion to his family, fierce loyalty to his friends, and a passion for the simple joys that made every day meaningful.

Curtis moved to Odessa in the 1970s and made it his lifelong home. He dedicated his entire career to the oil field industry, where he was known for his hard work, resilience, and deep knowledge of the field. His commitment to his work was matched only by his commitment to the people around him.

Curtis married the love of his life, Susan Hudspeth, on July 17, 1982. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, warmth, and unconditional love. He was preceded in death by his parents, Billie Jean and Bobby Warren Couch; his in-laws, Frances and Roy Hudspeth; sister-in-law Nikki Hudspeth; and his nephew, James “Bubba” Luker.

He is survived by his sons, Rory Couch, Jerod Couch and wife Caiti; his cherished grandchildren, Gunner, Hadley, Aiden, and Kaysen; his sisters, Quatia Wright and Debbie Rinehart; his sister-in-law, Terry Haltom; and a host of nieces and nephews: Terri and Ryan Breedlove, Royce and Jenn Haltom, Mikey Nichols, Lori Haltom, and Gena and Shawn Hale. Each of them carries forward his legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty.

Curtis was a proud supporter of the Dallas Cowboys, Aggie Football, and Duke Blue Devil Basketball. He found joy in watching his grandchildren play sports, teeing off with his golf buddies, and sharing stories with lifelong friends. One of his greatest pleasures was hosting family and friends at his home—firing up the grill for a barbecue, relaxing by the pool, and making sure everyone felt welcome and loved. His backyard was more than a gathering place—it was a sanctuary of connection, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Curtis also had a deep love for politics and was a passionate supporter of President Donald J. Trump and the United States of America. He believed strongly in the values of patriotism and he never hesitated to share his views with conviction and pride.

Above all, Curtis lived by one guiding principle: Family above everything. His love was boundless, his heart generous, and his presence unforgettable.

Honorary pallbearers include Billy Howell, Jeff Bailey, Danny Gasser, Roger Lightfoot, Gary Harmon, and Mike French—friends who stood by Curtis through thick and thin, and whose lives were deeply enriched by his friendship.

Curtis Wayne Couch will be remembered not only for the life he lived, but for the love he gave. His legacy endures in every story told, every game watched, and every hug shared among those who knew him best.
