Clyde Brown

Clyde Curtis Brown, 87 years of age, of Midland, Texas, Died on January 31, 2023, in Midland.

Memorial Services will be held at 1:30 PM Monday, February 6, at Faith Tabernacle Church, Located at 1420 E. 42nd St in Odessa, with Janette Fischer of Faith Tabernacle officiating; Message will be brought by Dana Crane. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Clyde was born in Ville Platt in Evangeline Parish, Louisiana, to Clyde P. and Elma V. Brown on March 21, 1935. Clyde attended Odessa High School and afterward, enlisted in the Army in which he served for the next three years. He served as a Police Officer among other endeavors, and then left Odessa for New York in 1960, working at the Banker’s Institute there for some time. It was in New York where he met and married Dora Dendrinos on June 25th of that same year.

In 1962, Clyde and Dora began residential construction in Big Spring, Texas; Later developing land and building homes in Dallas, then in Midland where he and his brother, Wyly Brown developed and built homes in the Wydewood addition.

Clyde and Dora, were strong in their Christian faith—Clyde became an evangelist, and preached the gospel of Jesus Christ in America and traveled extensively preaching in Africa, Panama, Central and South America, along with many European Nations.

Clyde was also a member of the Full Gospels Business Men’s Fellowship Int’l and became president of the midland chapter.

He is well-known in Midland and elsewhere for his passion in preaching the gospel and for his inexhaustible energy in “passing tracts” to anyone who would receive it!

Clyde and family have attended several midland churches, but for the past eight years have pastored at Odessa Faith Tabernacle Church.

Clyde is preceded in death by his mother, Elma V. Brown and sister, Elmarine B. Berry.

Clyde is survived by Wife, Dora Brown and son, Roy C. Gehrt and wife, Joanie; Son, Phillip Brown and Wife, Gina; Daughter, Linda Brown Easton and Husband, Nick.

Clyde’s Grandchildren: Casey Ghert, Randy Ghert, Luke Brown, Perry Brown, and Claire Brown, Hannah Martin, Tristan Mulry along with six great grand children,
