Chela Thomas

Graciela "Chela" Thomas, 97, of Odessa passed away on January 8, 2026.

Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.

Chela was born in Venezuela on January 22, 1928. She was happily married to Clifford "Bill" Thomas for 20 years in Odessa. She worked for 30 years as a florist; her last shop was Cousins Flowers. She also served as a volunteer of the auxiliary group at Medical Center Hospital, then known as the "Pink Ladies".

Chela is preceded in death by her husband Bill Thomas, son Dwight Nicholson, and all her siblings of Venezuela.

Chela is survived by her daughter Karen Holder married to Royce Holder of Odessa.
