Carrie Mena Blakely

October 22, 1964 — February 25, 2026

Kingsland, Texas

Carrie Mena Blakely, 61, of Kingsland, Texas, passed away on February 25, 2026. She was born on October 22, 1964, in Odessa, Texas, to Donnie Moorehead and Beverli Everett.

Carrie was a force of nature. She was loud, proud, and unapologetically herself—a woman who never met a stranger and made sure everyone in the room knew exactly who was in charge. To know Carrie was to know “The Queen,” and she wore that crown with joy, generosity, and a personality that filled every room she walked into.

She had a heart as big as her personality. When someone she loved needed or wanted something, Carrie didn’t wait—she pulled up her Amazon account and made it happen before you could finish asking. Her generosity wasn’t limited to those closest to her. Carrie was a philanthropist in every sense of the word, always finding ways to give back and lift others up. One of her proudest roles was serving as President of the Harmony Home Children’s Advocacy Board, where she championed the most vulnerable in her community.

Carrie loved the finer things in life and made no apologies for it. She had a taste for beautiful jewelry, stylish clothes, nice cars, gorgeous homes, and first-class travel. She was, in her own words, bougie—and she owned every bit of it. She and her husband Randy built a beautiful life together, eventually retiring to their home on Lake LBJ in Kingsland, where they spent their days on the water surrounded by family, friends, and their beloved dogs, Emmie and Poppy.

A woman of deep faith, Carrie was a member of Crossroads Fellowship and participated in Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) for many years. One of the most meaningful experiences of her life was traveling to Israel, where she was baptized in the Jordan River alongside her mother, Beverli—a memory their family will treasure forever.

Carrie had her own way of saying things that became part of the family’s language—including her famous “ValentiMes Day,” “albLum,” and “aLvacado,” which always brought a smile to everyone’s face. She was one of a kind, and her family wouldn’t have had her any other way.

Carrie is survived by her loving husband, Randy Blakely of Kingsland; her daughters, Brittney Barcena and husband Tyler, Bailie Lane and husband Logan, and Kelli Schwarz and husband Tate; her mother, Beverli Everett; her sister, Christi Shawell; her sisters-in-law, Paula Blakely and Paulla Shires; nieces and nephew, Rylee and Jake Sumrall and Caden Shawell; her eight grandchildren, who were the joy of her life, Blakleigh, Branham, Lawson, Easton, Bowen, Liam, Sutton and Madi; as well as Marty and Lyndsey Thomson and their family, who held a special place in Carrie’s heart; and her dear friend and caretaker, Morgan Winchell.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donnie Moorehead; her stepfather, Jim Everett, who was a wonderful father figure to Carrie throughout her life; her grandparents, Joseph and Myrtis Lee; and her parents-in-law, Jim and Carol Blakely.

Carrie was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She loved fiercely, lived boldly, and left an impact on every life she touched. She will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Baylor Scott & White Lakeway for the compassionate care they provided Carrie during her final moments.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Harmony Home Children’s Advocacy Center or a charity of your choice.
