Carolyn Russell

Carolyn Russell, 79, of Trent, TX, passed away on February 13, 2022, in Odessa, TX.

Carolyn was born in Trent to Clara Bell Henager and Thomas Melvin Raborn on October 26, 1942. She went to school at Odessa High School. She married Vernon Russell June 19, 1982, in Odessa, TX. Carolyn worked in the public for many years, and she was involved with Cub Scouts, Brownies, and Girl Scouts.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; her mother, Clara Bell Henager, Clara’s husband, Jerry Coufal; father, Thomas Melvin Raborn, his wife, Wanda; one brother, Tommy Lloyd Raborn; niece, Lacretia Montana; two stepsons, one stepdaughter; and one great grandson, Raxton Jones.

Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Debra (Lynn) Jones of El Dorado; her son, Ronald Huff of Odessa; her sister, Anatta Ayres of White Oak; seven grandchildren, Alissa (Kevin) Leisgang, Ryan (Lindsay) Jones, Chris (Amy) Jones, Gary (Mia) Jones, Christie Huff, Kimberley (David) Platz, and Morgan Paige Huff; as well as nineteen great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and two nieces.

She was a wonderful Christian woman that was loved by so many. She was always present but never the center of attention. She was known as mom, nana, and Grandma Susie. She had many best friends that will miss her dearly. Our momma lived life to the fullest, loved holidays, enjoyed traveling with family, but most of all loved to be surrounded by her family members. She was introduced to everyone as “Nana”, and that's what everyone called her. She attended many sporting events and if she wasn't there, she expected videos and pictures from someone. She never wanted to miss any event that her children, grandchildren or great grandchildren were involved in. She was loved by many but will be remembered by all.
