Carole Schwartz

Odessa

Carole Ann Schwartz, 84, of Odessa, Texas passed away peacefully on May 3rd, 2023.

Carole was born in Sayre, Pennsylvania, to Howard and Sadie Wolcott on April 12, 1939. She grew up in Sayre and fondly spoke of her family and life there. Her favorite memory to tell was how she greeted soldiers on the train behind their house as they passed through town. She graduated from Sayre High School and began her life as a loving wife and mother. She eventually landed in Odessa, Texas, where she married Donald Ray Schwartz on March 27th, 1981, and recently celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary. Carole had several jobs within her lifetime and met many wonderful friends. She was a forklift driver at Westinghouse in Corning, New York. She worked in a school cafeteria as a “lunch lady” in Beeville, Texas and later retired from a career as a commercial loan processor in Odessa, Texas. Her favorite hobby was sewing. She loved to make costumes for herself and others, dresses for church, and clothes for those she loved. Carole was known to dress up for Halloween in her favorite Mini Mouse costume and pass out candy in her front yard. She enjoyed her life to the fullest. When you think of Carole Ann you think of color, sass, and spunk.

Carole is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Sadie Wolcott; her sisters, Cynthia and Diane; and her eldest son, Jerry Monroe.

Carole is survived by her husband, Donald Schwartz; daughter, Kelly Fredericks and husband Mike; daughter, Carole Black and husband Jeff; son, Scott Monroe; daughter, Kristy Kidd and husband Billy; and stepdaughter, LaDohn Dean and husband Mark. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kassie, Shara, Michael Sterling, Zachary, Katie, Alexandria, Michael, and Kaitlyn as well as several great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Billy Kidd, Brad Standerfer, James Rush, and John Wamsley.

Memorials may be given to Meals on Wheels of Odessa or Westminster Presbyterian Church for their food pantry.
