Attended Austin Elementary, Crockett Junior High, graduated Odessa High School 1959.

Attended, graduated Odessa College 1961

Earned BS from East Texas State College 1963 in Social Studies/Education

Taught history in Sanderson, Texas, Rankin Texas Lone Oak Texas, Permian High School Odessa, Texas

Earned MSED from East Texas State University 1970, Mid Management Certification Sul Ross University.

Served as assistant principal at Bonham Junior High School, Odessa 9 years where she retired in 1996.

Member of the Parkview congregation of the church of Christ for 71 years. Taught Bible classes from 1-2 grade to ladies retired in 1996.

Member of the Delta Kappa Society International, Texas State Organization and Theta Mu Chapter (Odessa) for 56 years. Served as president of Theta Mu two biennium and other offices and chairman of various commitees during time of membership. Awarded the chapter achievement award 1986. Served on several International commitees. On State level served on commitees, chairman of several; board member of the Alpha State Texas Educational Foundation 2013-2019. Awarded State Achievement Award 1985.

Member of the Texas Retired Teachers Association and Odessa Retired Teachers and School Personnel Association. Served as president two terms as well as other offices and committee chair positions.

Preceded by parents, sister-in-law, Linda Horton, two nephews Doye and Brett Forman.

Survived by: Sister and husband Ora Beth and Richard Royal, brother Noel Stephen Horton, nieces Renelle Romine, Dawn Littlehat, nephews: Jarrad and wife, Melisa Forman, Christopher and wife Deb; Joshua and wife Beth, Dereck and wife Courtney, Jordan Horton. Three great nieces, five great nephews and 2 great great nieces and 4 great great nephews. Several cousins and many friends.
