In loving memory of Carla Janeta Garcia
September 29, 1990- March 24, 2026

“Be your own guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love.” — 1 Corinthians 16:13-14

The words of 1 Corinthians 16:13–14 reflect the very essence of who Carla was. She lived with courage and unwavering strength, always standing firm in the face of life’s challenges. More importantly, everything she did came from a place of love—especially when it came to her family. Carla was fiercely protective, always ready to stand up for those she loved, and she carried that strength with both grace and compassion.

With profound sorrow and deep love, we honor the life of Carla Janeta Garcia, 35, who was born in Brownsville, Texas and peacefully concluded her time here on earth on March 24, 2026 in Lubbock, Texas, surrounded by those who loved her the most.

Carla was a woman whose presence could fill any room with warmth and joy. She had a rare gift for making everyone feel included, valued, and at home— whether you were family by blood or simply blessed to be able to cross paths with her. She was the heart of every gathering, the laughter in every room, and a source of comfort and strength to so many.

Known for her resilience and determination, Carla was truly a fighter. She faced life either courage and worked tirelessly, carrying strong work ethic that showed in everything she did— including her time as a semi-truck driver, a role she took on with pride and perseverance.

Above all, Carla was love and light. She poured it into her family, friendships, and everyone around her. Her kindness, her strength, and her unforgettable spirit will continue to live on in the lives that she touched. The way she opened her arms and her heart to those will always be in their hearts endlessly.

She is lovingly survived by her husband, Israel Sarmiento; her son, Esteban Macias; her daughter, Yuleny Sarmiento; her parents, Guillermo and Carmen Garcia; and her siblings, Juanita Garcia, Guillermo Garcia Jr., and Apolinar Garcia.

Though her time here was far too short, the impact of her life will never fade. She will be remembered for her strength, her warmth, and the way she made everyone feel like they belonged.

Carla Garcia will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Rest peacefully, Carla. Your love lives on in all of us.
