Carl Kemp

Carl H. Kemp, 82, of Odessa, TX, went to be with the Lord on April 22, 2023.

Carl was born in Borger, Texas, to Kenneth and Leola Kemp. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jan Kemp; sons Mel Kemp and Joe Kemp; daughter Kimber Snider; sisters Theresa Hubbard and Marsha Jones; grandchildren and great-grandchildren who know him as Tepa.  He cherished his wife and family.

Carl graduated from Borger High School in 1959. He married his sweetheart, Jan (Holmes) Kemp, on January 20, 1962, at the Methodist church in Phillips, TX.

Carl retired from Broncho Chevrolet after 30 years. He was an avid fan of NASCAR (#3 and #8), Mojo, and rodeos. Over the years he was active in Boy Scouts, Elks Lodge, Lions Club and the Seminole Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, camping, horse races, the occasional trip to Las Vegas for some poker, slots and roulette and being Santa Claus during Christmas. He never met a stranger and loved telling stories.  He was a big teddy bear with a heart of gold.

His Celebration of Life gathering will be held, Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 1:00 PM Broncho Partners, 2621 W. 40th St, Odessa, TX 79764.
