Buster Carl McClinton, 83 years of age, passed away on November 26,2025 in Odessa Texas.
Visitation will be December 2 ,2025 Tuesday at Sunset Memorial from 6-8 pm .
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 3,2025, 2:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Odessa Texas. Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell will be officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Buster graduated from Odessa High School in 1961.
Buster Carl McClinton was born on August 18, 1942, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Jay McClinton and Clara Greene. He lived a full life marked by hard work, love, and laughter.
Buster dedicated much of his career to the oil and gas industry, working on drilling rigs and with service companies across Louisiana, Texas, and California. He took pride in his work, even roughnecking alongside his son during his career. After experiencing downturns in the industry, Buster transitioned to being a glazer with Odessa Glass and Mirror. He excelled in this and his skills took him to Las Vegas, where he contributed to the development of several major casinos. Later, he worked on significant projects in Los Angeles. In 2005, he returned to Odessa, continuing his professional journey with McClinton Energy Group.
Buster was married to the love of his life, Dennylynn McClinton, for 40 years before her passing in 2024. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared a bond that was an inspiration to many.
In his leisure time, Buster was passionate about music and played in the band "Buster McClinton and the Nashville Sounds," entertaining audiences across West Texas and Nashville. He was also an avid 42 player and enjoyed trying his hand at golf. He loved a 57 Chevy…
Buster is preceded in death by his beloved wife Dennylynn and his son Vincent McClinton . He was also preceded in death by his younger brother Jerry McClinton
He is survived by his sons , Tony McClinton and wife Kennie McClinton and Richard McClinton. Also his cherished grandchildren , Beau, Chase ,Tiffany ,Tommy , Megan ,Brooklyn ,Baleigh,and Giovanni and 14 great-grandchildren.
His warmth, wisdom, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
