Bobby Aaron, known by his family as Aaron, was born in Odessa, Texas on May 24, 1991, to parents Jeff and Vicki Cleere. He was a happy baby and he loved to laugh. At age 3, he was diagnosed with Autism and Pervasive Developmental Delay but that did not affect the love of his family. He attended school in Odessa where he had many wonderful teachers, aides, and bus drivers who had the patience of Job with him. After graduation from Permian High in 2013, he was “employed” as a paper shredder by the kind folks at Town and Country Drug, where he did more talking to the employees than shredding.

He was one of the first attendees at the House of the Sycamore Tree in Odessa. House of the Sycamore Tree, a non-profit (501)(c)(3), is a facility for special needs adults teaching them life skills and community learning opportunities. His mother Vicki, served as a volunteer and then as Executive Director until her death in April 2022. There was no greater advocate for Aaron than his mother. Aaron was very involved with Special Olympics beginning at ECISD and continuing into adulthood. He competed in softball, basketball, soccer, bowling, and track, winning many medals.

Aaron attended Chapel Hill Baptist Church with his family, where the folks loved and accepted him for who he was; happy go lucky or upset and angry. When Aaron chose you as a friend it may not meet “social norms” - you were his friend. He had the most interesting and memorable relationships with people young and old.

Aaron accepted Christ with a child-like faith on October 9, 2005 and then he was baptized on October 16th. We are so thankful for the folks at Chapel Hill for loving him despite his difficulties and disability.

In May of 2017, Aaron moved to San Angelo to go to “college” and live in a group home. He loved for us to visit him, but was happy for us to leave, which was a blessing in and of itself. While in San Angelo, he had many caring nurses and caregivers who took care of him, even when he was being difficult. We are so grateful for those folks.

Aaron is preceded in death by his mother Vicki Phillips Cleere, grandfathers B.J. Cleere, Sr. and Bobby Phillips, and aunts Deborah Cleere Allen and Cindy Goodwin Phillips.

Those left left to carry on Aaron’s memory are his father Jeff Cleere and stepmother Karen, brother B.J. Cleere III and wife Ashlyn, grandmothers Georgia Cleere and Pattie Phillips. Uncles, Freddy Cleere and wife Karen, Roger Cleere and wife Lu, Wes Phillips and wife Julie. Aunt Nelda Jean Jenkins and James Fields and more cousins than can be listed here.
