Benjamin Dusek

October 6, 1932 — May 15, 2021

Odessa

Benjamin (Benny) Daniel Dusek went home to be with the Lord on May 15, 2021 at the age of 88.  Benny was born on October 6, 1932 in Rowena, Texas to Frank Dusek and Blazenka Machotka Dusek.

Benny spent his early years in the farming community of Lowake and attended school in both Lowake and Paint Rock.  He graduated in 1949 from Lakeview High School in San Angelo and later served honorably in the U.S Army.  Benny then spent 42 years with Cummins Inc., retiring in 1999.  He received numerous awards for his technical expertise and knowledge.  Benny was an active member of Northside Baptist Church in Odessa.

Benny was a devoted husband and family man.  He and his beloved wife, Wilma, enjoyed life together and shared much laughter.  He served as a role model to his children with his strong work effort.  Benny was proud of his Czech heritage, had an excellent memory, and loved sharing stories about his childhood and life on the family farm.  In retirement, he enjoyed staying busy doing projects around the home and could fix almost anything.  Benny was a Christian and quiet man of God who professed his faith simply by setting an example in the way he lived his life.  He loved doing good for others, helping neighbors and friends, and was a gentle and kind man.

Benny was preceded in death by his parents Frank Dusek and Blazenka Dusek Williams, his sister Ruth Deaton, and stepdaughter Tanya Moore.  He is survived by his wife Wilma Dusek; his brother Jimmy Dusek and his wife Emme; sister Jarolyn Dusek; daughter Joni Stewart and her husband John; son Jay Dusek and his wife Terri; daughter Lori Dew and her husband Paul; grandchildren Ben Stewart, Tyler Dusek, Tristan Dusek and Reese Dew.  He is also survived by Wilma’s children Ronnie Moore and his wife Shirley, Laurie Moore and her husband Bucky, and Baxter Turner; 10 grandchildren & 19 great-grandchildren.

During his illness he was blessed with special caregivers, his stepdaughter and step-granddaughter, Laurie Moore, and Jessica Royal, he would always tell Wilma, “Call Laurie” or “Call Jessie”.  Whatever he needed they would find the answer for him!
