Bebe Doris Shelton Kerr passed away peacefully in her home in Frisco, Texas, on July 29, 2025, at the age of 96. Born on February 24, 1929, in Hamlin, Texas, Bebe lived a full and vibrant life dedicated to family, faith, and service. She was surrounded in her final moments by her loving husband of over 74 years, Dan Kerr, and their devoted family.
Bebe attended Abilene Christian University, where she developed lifelong friendships. Bebe was an active member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority and was recognized as Lady of the Year several times. Her passion for community and history led her to volunteer for many years at the Petroleum Museum and the George W. Bush Childhood Home Museum, both in Midland, Texas. She also served her community through her work in the special education department of Ector County Independent School District, where she touched the lives of countless children and families.
Bebe’s greatest joy came from being with her family. Alongside Dan, she raised their three sons—Gary, Richard, and Ed—primarily in Odessa, Texas, after time spent in Denver City. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and cherished memories. In 2021, she and Dan moved to Frisco to be closer to family in her later years.
She is survived by her beloved husband Dan Kerr; her son Richard Kerr and his fiancée Maria Agostino; granddaughters Crystal Lyons (husband Ron) and Courtney Brooks (husband Shawn); and great-granddaughter Reese, daughter of Crystal. She is also survived by her son Ed Kerr and his wife Jeannette; their daughters Ella Dror (husband Azriel), Remington Rabins (husband Joel), and Chessa Munoz (husband Diego); and great-granddaughters Sarina and Zara, daughters of Ella and Azriel.
Bebe is also lovingly remembered by her daughter-in-law Janet Kerr, and her grandsons from Gary and Janet: Daniel Kerr (wife Denise), Chris Kerr (wife Amy), and Michael Kerr. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Kylee and Kasen (children of Daniel and Denise), Jackson and Nathan (children of Chris and Amy), and Jaycee Kerr (daughter of Michael). She was preceded in death by her beloved son Gary Kerr.
Bebe will be remembered for her strength, her generosity, her gentle spirit, and the deep love she had for her family. Her presence will be missed dearly, but her legacy lives on in all who had the privilege to know and love her.
