Anthony "Tony" Martin Kalenak

May 22, 1955 — April 10, 2026

Odessa, Texas

Tony Kalenak, a devoted father and West Texan, departed this life on Friday, April 10, 2026. He is preceded in death by his parents (Dan and Karlene) and is survived by his siblings (Liz and Eric), wife (Eva Lois), children (Ben, Patricia, Michael, and Kyle), and grandchildren (Arron, Angelina, Hadley, Hylo, and Wednesday).

Born in 1955 in Odessa, TX, Tony was a loving husband, father, and friend. Whether he was comforting his children with hugs and back scratches, drafting the streets and causeways of West Texas or sharing his interests in arts and science, he approached everything with passion, care, and respect.

He was known for his love of space, science fiction, music, and learning new technology (most recently adding drones to his work repertoire), Tony could often be found tinkering with his domes and gadgets.

Whether he was in the backyard with his geodesic domes or spending time with family talking and listening to a good album, Tony embraced life with curiosity, a love of learning, and a reverence to being present in the moment. He left us with a lifetime of fond memories and love.

A celebration of Tony’s life will be held at Sunset Memorial on Saturday 4/18/26 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Planetary Society (https://www.planetary.org/support-projects) or the buckmister fuller institute (https://www.bfi.org/) , organization’s centered on things Tony held dear.
