Annette Renee Haynes Homsey, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother, passed away on December 18, 2025. She was born on August 13, 1971, in Odessa, Texas, to Patty Lou and Ronald “Ronnie” Haynes. From the very beginning, Annette brought light, laughter, and love into the lives of everyone around her.
Annette graduated from Permian High School, Class of 1989, where her vibrant spirit and outgoing personality were already unmistakable. A former cheerleader at Hood Junior High, she carried that same joy and energy throughout her life. Annette was truly the life of the party, known for the biggest smile and the most magnetic presence in any room she entered. Her laugh was contagious, her warmth unforgettable, and she had a remarkable way of making people feel instantly welcome. Annette knew no strangers and had the kindest heart—overflowing with love for her family, friends, and animals. She never turned away a stray, opening both her heart and her home to those in need. She loved Bon Jovi, dancing, and celebrating life to the fullest.
Family meant everything to Annette. She took immense pride in being a devoted mother and found her greatest joy in being the very best “Mum Mum” to her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Her love for them knew no bounds, and she cherished every moment spent creating memories with her family.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Sam and Lorene Haynes; her maternal grandparents, Roy L. and Mary E. Brewer; her father, Ronald Reagan Haynes; her father-in-law, Lynn Homsey; her great-nephew, Braylan Allen Wilson; and her beloved best friend, Carmen Hinton.
Annette is survived by her loving mother, Patty Lou Haynes of Odessa, Texas; her devoted husband, David L. Homsey of Odessa, Texas; her cherished children, Brandon and Brittleigh Harrington of Odessa, Texas, and Trinity and Conner Homsey of Odessa, Texas; her sister, Angela Haynes Wilson of Bridge City, Texas; her niece, Reagan Wilson of Bridge City, Texas; her nephew, Zachary Wilson of Nederland, Texas; her brother-in-law, Gary Homsey of Odessa, Texas; her mother-in-law, Candy Homsey; her niece, Kendall Homsey of Odessa, Texas; her nephew, Tristan Homsey of Lubbock, Texas; along with numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was a proud and loving grandmother to Aaden, Channing, Kealani, Paisley, Jaxon, Kymbriegh, Ronni, Perseus, Athena, and Brynleigh, each of whom held a very special place in her heart.
Annette Renee Haynes Homsey will be remembered for her radiant smile, her boundless compassion, her fierce love for her family, and the joy she brought into every room. Though she will be deeply missed, her beautiful spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love her.
The family would also like to extend their deepest gratitude to beloved family member, Officer Kaaiako Vavao, whose courage, bravery, calm presence, and heartfelt compassion brought comfort and reassurance during one of the most difficult moments of their lives. His selfless support will never be forgotten.
In honor of “Nette Nette,” and in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Odessa Humane Society.
