Anita Louise Jones

Our mom, Anita Louise Jones, went peacefully to be with the lord on Monday, June 10th, 2024, in Whitney, TX. She was born on Dec 20th, 1944, in Strong, Arkansas to Paul and Elizabeth Benson. She was one of four girls, her sisters were Jean, Sandra and Paula. 

Anita met and married Jessie Edward Bass in Monroe, La and eventually moved to Odessa, Tx. She graduated from Monroe High school in Monroe, La. She began working in the bail bonding industry in Odessa, Tx for over 45 years altogether. She was very dedicated and passionate about her job and trying to help others. 

Anita is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Elizabeth; her son, Jessie E Bass II; sisters, Jean, Sandra and Paula; great granddaughter, Bralea Neatherlin; nephews and nieces. 

Anita is survived by her children, daughters, Toni Putty and husband Kenneth of Odessa, Tx, Julie Hatfield of Whitney, Tx, Jeanie Stucks and husband Chris of Mustang, OK. 14 grandchildren and 26 great-great grandchildren.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Kevin Putty, Brandon Putty, Jordan Hatfield, Justin Bass, Jacona Bass and Joshua Bass. 

A visitation will be held from 1-5pm on Sunday, June 16th, 2024, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. 

Funeral Services with burial directly following will be held on Monday, June 17th, 2024, at 10:00 AM with Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, Chapel, 6801 E, I-20BL, Odessa, TX, 79762. 432-362-2331.
