Agapita M. Munoz, 82, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 8, 2021, surrounded by family at her home in Midland, TX.  She was welcomed home with open arms by her parents, Maria and Ricardo Martinez; two sisters, Rosa Dominguez and Elizabeth Madrid; six brothers, Jose, Rosendo, Cesario, Richard, Miguel, and Lupe Martinez; two sisters-in-law, Senida and Mary Vijil; one brother-in-law, Manuel Munoz; grandson Benjamin Ruiz and granddaughter Kiana Ornelas.

Agapita was born August 18, 1938 in Otis, NM to Ricardo and Maria Martinez. She lived in Dexter, NM, where she met her first love Apolonio S. Munoz and married January 2, 1963. Together they raised two wonderful daughters. Agapita lived a simple, modest life, extremely humble, caring, generous and grateful. She loved the outdoors, gardening, growing vibrant flowers, fishing and camping with the grandchildren was an annual event.  She enjoyed Hobbs’ and Ruidoso's slot machines.  While indoors she spent time crocheting, quilting, crossword puzzles, and playing Animal Crossing.  She was competitive in playing different kinds of board games and chess. She also enjoyed listening to oldies, Kenny Rogers, Selena, and watched cowboy and Indian movies.

She was survived by her husband, Apolonio S. Munoz of Midland TX; daughters, Diana M. Munoz of Odessa, TX and Cynthia and husband Sammy Quiroz of Odessa, TX; grandchildren Eric Quiroz of Boise, ID, Justin Ruiz and Brittany Larson of Odessa, TX, Samantha and husband Luc Allen of Odessa, TX, Cosette and husband Nicolas Quezada of Odessa, TX, and David Ornelas III and Selena Martinez of Dallas TX;  great-granddaughters Aria Ruiz and Scarlett Allen;  three sisters, Lillie and husband Billy Montoya, Vera and husband Rey Medrano of Roswell, NM, Helen Cabrera of Dexter, NM; one brother, Roy Martinez of Odessa, TX; brother-in-law Jose Munoz of Ft. Stockton, TX and sister-in-law Irma Munoz of Bakersfield, CA. She was also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, her pet bird Sunny and newest addition, Max the pup.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren; Eric Quiroz, Justin Ruiz, David Ornelas III, Nick and Cosette Quezada, and Samantha Allen.
