Leta Edge went to be with her Lord and family on Friday, January 25, 2019 at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas.
Leta was an only child born to Bill and Faynail Hibbs in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
Leta was a wonderful wife, mother, and friend and was the heart and soul of her family. Leta married the love of her life, Scott Edge, on May 8, 1979. They traveled, fished, hunted, and spent endless happy days together.
Leta was a dedicated business woman. She and Scott started their own company, Asbestos Removal, where they loved and appreciated their employees.
Leta is survived by her loving husband, Scott Edge of Odessa, and her only child, Wyatt Edge of Odessa, who she loved with all her heart. Leta has 4 grandchildren she adored and loved spending time with: Jake Edge, Kali May Edge, Darykk Edge and Saxon Edge. She leaves behind aunts, uncles, nieces, and cousins who will cherish her all the days of their lives.
Leta is preceded in death by her parents Bill and Faynail Hibbs, her father and mother-in-law, Bill and Sheila Edge of Odessa, and her grandparents, Robert E Taylor and Eva Taylor and grandparents-in-law Jake and Mae Edge of Odessa.
Leta loved her Savior, Jesus Christ, who taught about a glorious place God has prepared for all of us. “ Let not your heart be troubled, believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places, if it were not so, I would have told you. For I go to prepare a place for you. I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.’ John 14:1-3.
Leta’s memorial service will be at 1:00 PM, Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Odessa. We know that heaven will be a little brighter with our Leta there.
Arrangements are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home. To send family condolences please sign her guestbook at www.sunsetodessa.com.

Leta, oh Leta. My beautiful cousin. How I idolized you growing up. So much so that I didn't think you looked like Stevie Nicks - I thought Stevie Nicks looked like you. And I thought she was lucky for it.
Nobody was as fiercely loyal or protective, yet your manner was smooth as single malt. An iron hand in a velvet glove. I have always tried to be more like you.
I love you now and forever, and as we try to figure out how to be in a world without you among us, we look to a brighter sky with you in the heavens. I hope your mother was there to carry you on home, I love my Auntie so. May you, Auntie, Nanny, and all of our beloved in the beyond help watch over us until the Lord calls us home too.
In eternal love,
Your Paula Jane

Leta Lou left an impression on everyone that came in to contact with her. I grew up visiting the farm in Ardmore over the summers and she was always so good to me even with the age difference. I was quite a bit younger than her but she always included me in all of her plans. I have so many special memories of her like riding around in her VW bug all over town, going to the VA to play piano and sing for the Vets; listening to The Doors and Jethro Tull; her sneaking me in to see The Graduate; and of course the way her dogs (especially Lady) loved her so much and would go crazy every time they saw her. She was enchanting and I will always hold all those memories so dear to my heart. I'm certain that everyone that knew her, loved her. She was one in a trillion!

Our hearts broke when we heard of the loss of our sweet friend Leta. Scott, we cherish the times spent with you and Leta even though it was many years ago. Never before and never since have we met someone who brightened up a room with just a smile, and radiated the love of Jesus. We know she fought many battles with cancer, but know that she’s healed and with our Lord now. We are praying for you, Wyatt, his family, Susie, George and Raleigh.
