Ronald Baker, 74, of Odessa, passed away on April 4, 2018 at his home in Odessa.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, April 9, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Todd Salzwedel of First Methodist Church officiating.

Ronald was born in Seminole, TX, to Virginia and Erkel Lee Baker on October 10, 1943. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1962. He married Carol Young on October 1, 1965. He graduated from Sul Ross State College in 1966. He worked as a teacher in Ector County ISD for 30 years. He was involved in coaching little league baseball in his earlier years, and he enjoyed training at the gym. He worked for Neal’s Health Studio for a period of 15 years. He loved to entertain the students he taught by showing them how he could bend a large nail with his bare hands. The many students he taught at Bowie Jr. High School enjoy recounting this story! He was also a very proud PaPa to his three grandkids!

Ronald is preceded in death by his parents; his paternal grandparents, Robert and Clara Baker; his maternal grandparents, Henry and Pinksy Lassiter; his wife’s parents, Don and Mildred Young, and his step father-in-law, Larry Bridwell.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Carol Baker, of Odessa; his son, Troy Baker; his daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Shawn Bell, of Ft. Worth, TX; and his grandchildren, Landon, Ashlyn, and Mason Bell, all of Ft. Worth, TX.

The family would like to extend our sincere thanks to all of those keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers.

Arrangements are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home. To send family condolences please sign his guestbook at
