Mary Lee Lassiter Williams, 80, of Odessa, entered in to the presence of her Lord and Savior Tuesday, April 2, 2019.

Mary was born on June 7, 1938 in Copeland, Alabama to Elizabeth Lassiter. She spent much of her childhood in Copeland before moving with her brother, Tommie Lassiter to Linden, Texas.
Mary attended high school in Linden and also helped with the family business. She loved animals and always had a soft heart for a stray. After marrying and moving to Midland, she worked for the phone company until she became a mother. She then devoted her time and love to raising her children Bobby, Mary, and Donnie. In 1963, the family moved to Odessa where she lived for the rest of her life. In 1971 she would be blessed with her fourth child Jeffery. Mary loved her family very much. She was a Christ Follower and was an active member of The Bridge UMC and was involved from its start at LBJ.

Mary was a kind soul who loved other people. She was soft-spoken and ready to help anyone in need. She later worked at Medical Center Hospital in the coffee shop before going to work at Parks Methodist where she would work for 27 years until she retired. She began as a nurse’s aide and then moved to the dietary department. She was well loved by the residents and her coworkers.

Mary is preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth, her twin sister, Elizabeth, her son, Jeffery, her brother, Tommie and his wife, Alta Ray, and her niece, Wanda.

She is survived by her children: Bobby Williams and wife Tina of Odessa, Mary Allbright and husband Gordon of Odessa, and Donnie Williams of Odessa, daughter-in-law Nikki, her grandchildren: Crystal and husband Sam, Brad and wife Lory, Elizabeth, Mandy and husband Cody, Leah and husband JR, Shelby and husband Ethan, Seth and wife Cindy, Moses, Samantha and husband Mario, Stephen and wife Lorena, Simon and wife Iris, and 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her niece Beth Ann and husband Robert of Ore City as well as many other family members in east Texas and Alabama. She is also survived by her two dogs Melody and Buddy.

Pallbearers will be Brad Allbright, Seth Williams, TR Reynolds, Emerson Dominguez, Moses Williams, and Miles Prichard.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:30 until 8 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at The Bridge UMC on Saturday, April 6, at 1:00 PM. The Reverend Kyle Toomire will be officiating.

Memorials may be given to the Bridge UMC.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Madison Medical Resort for all the love and care they showed our mom.
