Melissa June Brazeal, of Odessa, TX, went to be with our Lord and Savior November 14, 2017. She passed peacefully at home with family.

She was born March 15th, 1979, in Odessa, the daughter of Mike and Allison (Fitzgerald) Francis. She graduated from Permian High School in 1996 and attended Odessa College for 2 years, pursuing a business career. She worked as an office manager for several companies, Engine Service & Supply Company, Equipment Service Company and Trigg Transportation. Melissa never met a stranger, she was full of life and had the most contagious smile and laugh. Her beautiful eyes and her dimple made her especially impressionable. She loved spending anytime possible with her family, especially her kids. Candace and Ryan both played basketball and she loved going to their games. She loved being in the water, especially at her parent’s lake house, with family, swimming, boating, seadoing and just hanging out. Melissa wasn’t short of friends. She had many, many friends and when they hung out, there was never a dull moment. So many stories could be told.

Melissa is preceded in death by her grandmother, June McPhail, grandfather, RG Fitzgerald, grandparents, Kenneth and Fern Francis, Uncle, Ted Roedel, cousins, Michael Fitzgerald, Jason Fields and Christopher Roedel.

Melissa is survived by her daughter, Candace Brazeal; son, Ryan Brazeal; parents, Mike and Allison Francis; brother, Andrew Francis and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm, November 17, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating, burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Brazeal, Joe Roedel, Desmon Smith, Jon Fitzgerald, Troy Nelson and Jason Moler.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations, help us lay her to rest and let her have the going home party she deserves. GoFundMe account, (The link is also posted on FaceBook)

You'll be dearly missed. Even though I haven't seen you since junior high. But I always remember your big dimple smile every time we passed each other in the hallways. You're rejoicing in heaven and telling everyone that you're now their guardian angel. My sincere condolences to your family as they lay you to rest.
