On the evening of May 7th 2012, Emily Daune Everett, 24 of Odessa, TX received her Angel Wings. She was born in Snyder, TX on August 17, 1987 to Clay and Risa.
Emily was a 2009 graduate of the ECISD school system where she attended Hood Junior High. During the years from 1996 until 2001, she was a member of the Challenger League Baseball team where she was loved by her teammates and coaches.
Emily’s greatest love was her music, so you never saw her without her keyboard listening to her tunes. She enjoyed camping on the river with her Dad, and shopping for bling with her Mom. Emily truly found joy in spending time with family that loved her dearly, and the overabundance of friends whom have all been touched by Emily’s charm and grace through her daily challenges.
Emily is preceded in death by her grandfather Claude E. Everett.
Survivors include her parents, Clay Everett, Risa Craig and husband George, all of Odessa; her siblings, Rusty Everett, Rachel and Chase Craig, and Becky Black, all of Odessa; and her grandparents, Grady and Alice Glenn and Gladys Everett, all of Odessa; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 9th 2012 at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home from 6 until 8 pm.
The celebration of Emily’s life will be on Thursday May 10th 2012 at 5:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Rusty Everett, George Craig, Chase Craig, Terry Jarrell, Wayne Courtney, and Justin Courtney.
Emily’s family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Dar and numerous other doctors whose care she has been under over the years. We would also like to thank her current nurse Kay Orline, and her other private duty nurses that have cared for and loved on her throughout her life. Words cannot express the gratitude for all of the teachers, aides and therapists who have all interacted with Emily.
Emily was an absolute blessing to all who met her, and we truly believe that her precious life was extended through the love and care she received.
