John Robert Poindexter IV, 44, of Odessa, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2012 in Odessa at Medical Center Hospital.
He was born January 13, 1968 to Barbara and John Robert Poindexter III in Lubbock, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his son, Phillip Poindexter; father, John Poindexter; grandfather, Howard Allen; and uncle, William Allen.
Survivors include “Roddy” John Robert Poindexter II; “Jack” Jackson Poindexter; sister, Annette and Woodie Morris; brother, Carl and Kami Poindexter; niece, Brooklynne; nephew, C.J.; mother, Barbara Poindexter; grandmother, Dorothy Allen; uncle, Pete and Linda Allen; aunts, Annabelle Plowman, and Sharon and Jim Barris; special in-laws, Gail and Dawl Johnson, and John Jackson; and best friend, Jape Pritchard.
The family will receive friends Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home, with a funeral service held in the chapel at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2012 with Jimmy Braswell to officiate. Interment to be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
