OBITUARIES

Willie Dee Creear, Jr.
October 13, 1950 - July 24, 2010

Willie Dee Creear, Jr. was born October 13, 1950 in Corsicana, Texas to Willie Dee Creear, Sr. and Vera Lee (Johnson) Creear, the first of two children. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and grandparents.

The Creear family moved to Odessa, Texas where Willie attended Hays Elementary School and graduated from Ector High School in 1968. Willie participated in basketball and baseball throughout high school, and he enjoyed attending football and basketball games in his later years.

Willie was baptized at St.James Baptist Church at an early age. As he grew older, he developed a deeper relation with God through daily Bible reading and fellowship with the brotherhood ministry.

Willie continued his education at Seattle University for two years, majoring in business. He later became employed at Boeing Aircraft where he excelled as a leader and became the supervising engineer in the tool department. He was an avid leader, facilitating seminars and sharing his high tech knowledge and skills with Boeing Aircraft Industry for over 29 years.

While in Seattle Washington, Willie joined the Buffalo Trails Organization, attended and served as an ordained deacon of finance at Mount Olive Episcopal Methodist Church. He also became the proud father of two children, Demeidra and Willie III, whom he loved very much.

Willie returned to Odessa, Texas in 2009 and became employed with the City of Odessa Water Reclamation Derrington Plant, where he tested for and earned his D,C, and B State of Texas License in Water Treatment. He joined Mount Olive Baptist Church where he served as Vice-President of the Usher Board, was a member of the brotherhood, and was elected to become a deacon-in-training. He, also, married his true love and soul mate, Brenda Joyce Huchaby.

On July 4, 2010 Willie went on his final road trip to the Creear family reunion, to visit his daughter and her family, and to visit his beloved cousin, Wanda Williams and her husband, Chip. Although his illness pursued, Willie pressed on to see his daughter, son-in-law, and first grandchild who recently moved to Texas.

Upon his return, Willie became more feeble and was hospitalized. He slipped away quietly during a family prayer. During the family prayer, those present were Irene, Essie, Terry, Esta, Mary, Vincent, Mellanee, Devorik, Vincent, Neidra, Tiona, Rachel, and Brenda.

Willie leaves to mourn, a loving wife, Brenda; one sister, Suzanne Cook (David) of Tucson, Arizona; daughter, Demeidra Johnson (Anthony) of Killeen, Texas; son, Willie III of Seattle, Washington; Granddaughter, Brianna of Killeen, Texas; grandson, Willie IV of Seattle, Washington; paternal aunts: Irene Rouse, Essie Creear, and Pauline Walker, all of Ft. Worth, Texas; niece, Mellanee Alford (Devorik) of Odessa, Texas; nephew, Keon Cook of Tucson, Arizona; great nieces Melisha and DeMaya Alford of Odessa, Texas; extended family, Tiona Mobley of Houston, Texas, Neidra Conliffe (Gary) of Rowlett, Texas, Vincent Bennett of Midland, Texas, and Rachel Johnson of Odessa, Texas; and a host of cousins, friends, and co-workers who will truly miss him. He will be sorely missed by close friends Lonnie Lucas, Jimmy Rodriguez, Leonard Byrd and Bill Ray with whom he enjoyed spiritual visits throughout the years.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Sing Uy, Ravi Vemeru, Dr. John Thomas (Lubbock, Texas), MCH and Hospice House staff for their fervent efforts in caring for Willie throughout his illness. We, also, appreciate those who were steadfast in prayer for Willie as he prepared to make his journey “going home.”
