We little knew that morning God was going to call your name.

In life we loved you dearly; in death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you; you did not go alone,

For a part of us went with you, the day God called you home.

You left us beautiful memories; your love is still our guide.

And though we can not see you, you are always by our side.

Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same,

But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

Kelsi Jordan Miller was born on October 29, 1985, to Lance and Debra Miller, in Odessa, Texas. Kelsi attended elementary school at Reagan in Odessa. Her family moved to Rankin where she attended Junior High and High School. She was a 2004 Honor Graduate. She was involved in numerous activities, including National Honor Society, Head Varsity Cheerleader, Basketball Captain, Class Vice President, Region 18 Outstanding GT Student, UTPB Beacon Award, 4-H Golden Clover Award, Best Actress in the One-Act Play, Pig Breed Champion, Heifer Breed Champion, Permian Basin 4-H Fair Scholarship, Sandhills Rodeo Scholarship, Little Miss Texas 1989 and she won many baton twirling contests. She was also involved in many community service projects, such as Meals on Wheels and Dress a Doll Project. She also would sew turbans for cancer patients and the Baby Bundle Project where she would sew blankets and diaper shirts to donate to hospitals.

Currently, Kelsi was working full time at Ector County Abstract Company; part time for Harrigans, and was pursuing her nurse practitioner degree at Odessa College and Texas Tech Health Science Center.

Kelsi was preceded in death by her grandmother Joyce Esmon, great grandmother, Pauline Burge and grandfather, D.A. Miller.

Kelsi is survived by her parents, Lance and Debra Miller, brother Dyron Miller, sister, Hayli Miller, grandmother, Yuvonne Miller of Odessa, grandparents, Bill and Eleanor Esmon of Flint, and her beloved beautiful chihuahuas Sugars and Jasmine.

Rankin High School Class Quote of 2004:

When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, I used everything you gave me.

Visitation with the family will be 6:00-8:00 PM Saturday, October 11, 2008, in Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 12, 2008, at Mission Dorado Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Bratcher officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

I never knew Kelsi Jordan Miller personally.. However, I came across her story online, and her uniquely striking beauty intrigued me to where I had to try and understand why and how such an amazing person would be taken away from everyone so fast. After reading, I still dont understand. Her journal entry had a list of some of her favorite things that made her happy She seemed to be very appreciative of the little things in life. She seemed to have a such a hopeful, optimistic spirit around others. I cant look at any of her pictures without being in awe of her kind, deep eyes. This part of her life was only another door opening, and she has SO MUCH to look forward to... God bless everyone who was lucky enough to have known her.

Kelsi, Its taken me a while to write on this guestbook because Im not quite ready to let you go. I think about you everyday. I miss seeing the bright orange mustang around town. It seems we seen each other on the streets at almost every red light, honk, roll down our windows and see how youre doing. Im going to miss that. You had so much going for you and had accomplished so much in your short life. I know now you are continuing your accomplishments in heaven and I have peace with that now. This is not a goodbye but Ill see you soon again. I miss you, Love, Rhonda

Kelsi,First of all you were loved and will be missed dearly. You were a beautiful person not only outside but inside. You accomplished so much in such a short time you were here on Earth but I believe the best achievement of all is you accepting Jesus into your life. Kelsi you ARE in heaven and that brings comfort and peace. You will have everlasting life and we will all be together again. I am so proud of you and the goals you set for yourself. Your class saying about When I stand before God It was written with you in mind. I can picture you facing God and he smiling at you with his arms out to comfort you. You will have no more pain or tears. I love you.

KelsiIm not sure I will ever get over this. There is not a moment that passes I dont think about you and what happened. There are alot of unanswered questions we will never know but there are alot of memories that I will never forget. It seems like yesterday you were making fun of me bc I was so scared of ET when you would make me watch that when we were little girls or when me and Brittany would pick on you just bc you were younger than us. I am going to miss the times when we were in college and one of us or both of us would do something to get in trouble and you would tell your mom, she would call my mom, and then my mom would call me and yell at me or the other way around. I am so upset that I wont be able to walk into Express anymore and somehow see you there almost everytime. Its like we knew when each other would be at the mall bc we always seemed to be there at the same time. Holidays will never be the same without you. Im pretty sure we havent missed a holiday together since we were born. I cannot wait until I get to see you again one day in heaven. As soon as I get therelets go to the mall okay I am so blessed I had an awesome cousin and best friend like you. I will miss you everyday for the rest of my life. I LOVE YOU See ya soon

My husband and I stayed at the MCM Grande this past summer while attending a DJ reunion. Three of us went to Harrigans to eat Sat. afternoon, and I left the table after eating and happened into the bar, where I met Kelsi. I was so struck by how sweet and beautiful she was. We had quite a long conversation and upon leaving .... I felt I had met a true friend. I was so impressed by her beauty, sweetness and her ambition. So many young adults today have a hard time holding down just 1 job, yet she worked 2 and was pursuing a career and attending college too. I couldnt help but remember what my mother always said, Pretty is, as pretty does. And .... she was every bit of it. I am so sorry for your familys loss, but I know without any doubt, we will see her again. She was one of Gods true angels on earth.

My love prayers go out to your family,

    Candy Drummond

I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Kelsi from when I was in 4H and played basketball in Ozona. We also went to several dances like the Harvest Ball in Big Lake, and we had some classes at OC together. She was a sweet girl, always smiling. About a month ago, Kelsi and I ran into each other when she came looking for an apartment at the complex where I work. May the Lord be with you in the coming days. God Bless you and your family.

I didnt know your family but my heart breaks for your beautiful family at this very difficult time. May God, hold you in his arms and convert you to help you heal your broken hearts. Here is a lovely poem I read awhile back when I had a loved one pass. It brought some convert to me, as I hope it does for you. Blessings....

To my dearest family, some things Id like to say.
But first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
Im writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, theres no more tears of sadness
    Here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because Im out of sight.
Remember that I am with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through.
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, I welcome you.

Its good to have you back again,
you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, Theyll be here later on.
I need you here badly, youre part of my plan.
Theres so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night the days chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years.
Because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry: It does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
If I were to tell you, you wouldnt understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is over.
Im closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb
But together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and Id like it for you too
That as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody whos in sorrow and pain
Then you can say to God at night......My day was not in vain.
And now I am contented....that my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along the way I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low
Just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When youre walking down the street
and youve got me on your mind
Im walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when its time for you to go....from that body to be free.
Remember youre not going.....youre coming here to me.
