Frances M. Allen Cain
Frances M. Cain 82 of Odessa, TX passed away peacefully at home on July 12th, 2012. She was the oldest of four daughters born to Barney P. Allen and Lois Miller. She was born in Wortham, TX on October 6th, 1929.
Our mothers family moved to Odessa in 1948. She went to work as a telephone operator shortly after the move. In 1948, her sister, Bonnie, was working at the Elliot Hotel coffee shop. Bonnie introduced our father to our mother, which started a whirlwind romance between the two. They were married two months later, January 2nd, 1949 at the First Baptist Church of Odessa. They were married 44 years until his death in 1993. Our father was working for Exxon Humble Oil Company when they married. The oil company would transfer our family to many different cities, but our mother always made a home for us, wherever we lived. Our family returned to Odessa in 1970, our mother and father made their final home here.
Our mother was a wonderful wife, sister, friend, and mother. She never spoke a harsh word. She was always kind and generous to everyone she met. She loved and embraced her family always. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Those left to cherish her love and memory are her daughter, Kay Pate of Odessa and son, Larry Cain of Odessa. She has one grandchild, Brandon Cain of Odessa and her two great grandchildren, Madison and Averi of Odessa. She is also survived by sisters, Bonnie Harrison of Odessa and Helen Ayres and husband, Bud of Odessa and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roy J. Cain, sister Barbara Delong of Las Cruces, New Mexico and her soninlaw, Richard Pate of Odessa.
As per our mothers request, we will have a private family memorial at a later date.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Home Hospice of Odessa for their special care of our mother.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to Home Hospice, 516 N. Texas St., Odessa, TX. 79761
